Creative Space

Matsalu Creative Space is a place in pristine Estonian nature. We are located on the trajectory of migratory birds and our permanent residents are foxes, hare and elks. Beautiful Salevere Salumäe hiking trail starts from the Creative Space. Bird watching towers, hiking trails, the boat ride and secret spots are just a short drive away.

Workshop house

The heart of the Creative Space lies with our historic buildings from the 19th century. The Workshop is great for art exhibitions and team building workshops alike. It features a small stage, a spacious kitchen and enough room for all kinds of events.

The Distillery is noticeable for its high chimney and here we have a small applied arts gallery. In time, small cabin houses and a sauna house have been built at the Creative Space to add to the comfort of our visitors.

Cabins

Welcome to Kodade cabins. We offer simple but comfortable accommodation in 8 cabins for up to 6 people. You can check in online and come and go as you like. Cabins are a perfect choice for nature friends and families.

At Creative Space we need to follow the nature preservation guidelines of the Matsalu Nature Park. Our comforts are thus not too sophisticated. Our visitors can enjoy eco-toilets and we use water sparingly. We share cooking, shower and toilet facilities.  The sauna house features a kitchenette and a fridge. If you decide to stay with us, we expect you to follow some simple rules which make everyone’s stay a bit nicer (such as not to listen to loud music, clean the house after oneself, smoke only at the designated area etc.)

Linavästriku (White wagtail) cabin

Linavästriku cabin is comfortable and simple. It has four beds and two extra beds (under the ceiling). The cabin is closest to Workshop house and other facilities. The hiking trail is just a 2-minute walk away. There is a small sun terrace in front of it. A few steps from the house are the cooking facilities, the sauna house and toilets.

Rähni (Woodpecker) cabin

Rähni cabin is comfortable and simple. It has four beds and space for two extra beds (under the ceiling). Opening the doors you will have an impressive view to the greenery and the bird song of the grove forest. The hiking trail is just a 2-minute walk away. There is a small terrace in front of the house. A few steps from the house are the cooking facilities, the sauna house and toilets.

Lehelinnu (Leaf warbler) cabin

Lehelinnu cabin is comfortable and simple. It has two beds and two extra beds. The door open to sunlight and you can observe the ants on the terrace. The hiking trail is just a 2-minute walk away. A few steps from the house are the cooking facilities, the sauna house and toilets. The cabin shares a wall with Punarinna cabin.

Punarinna (European robin) cabin

Punarinna cabin is comfortable and simple. It has two beds and two extra beds. You can step straight into the greenery of the grove forest from the house and or just sit on the terrace and enjoy the bird song. A few steps from the house are the cooking facilities, the sauna house and toilets. The cabin shares a wall with Lehelinnu cabin.

Puukoristaja (Eurasian nuthatch) cabin

Puukoristaja cabin is comfortable and simple. It has two beds and two extra beds. This is our warmest and sunniest cabin. We recommend reading on the terrace on early spring mornings. A few steps from the house are the cooking facilities, the sauna house and toilets. The cabin shares a wall with Porri cabin.

Porri (Eurasian treecreeper) cabin

Porri cabin is comfortable and simple. It has two beds and two extra beds under the ceiling. The house is in the protective embrace of an old oak tree. You can step straight into the leafy grove forest or just enjoy the bird song. A few steps from the house are the cooking facilities, the sauna house and toilets. The cabin shares a wall with Puukoristaja cabin.

Kärbsenäpi (Spotted flycatcher) cabin

Kärbsenäpi cabin is comfortable and simple. It has two beds and two extra beds under the ceiling. The cabin enjoys being most separate from the others, almost hidden in the bushes. The front terrace allows you to quietly observe whatever is going on in the nearby grove forest. A few steps from the house are the cooking facilities, the sauna house and toilets. The cabin shares a wall with Musträsta cabin.

Musträsta (Common blackbird) cabin

Musträsta cabin is comfortable and simple. It has two beds and two extra beds under the ceiling. Real blackbirds also nest here, so ``tsssst``. You can step straight into the leafy grove forest from the cabin or just enjoy the bird song. A few steps from the house are the cooking facilities, the sauna house and toilets. The cabin shares a wall with the Kärbsenäpi cabin.
